Try some low-tox color with me! We now have @innersensepro as an option in our salon for guests who want the safest, most natural hair color experience!
Your color should never come at the cost of your health. That’s why we use Innersense Color Purity—a clean, conscious color line that’s free from the harsh chemicals found in most traditional hair color.
βNo Ammonia – known for its strong smell and scalp irritation, it also damages the hair’s natural pH balance. * does contain MEA which is gentler but helps the color process!
βNo PPD or PTD – common colorants that can trigger allergic reactions, especially in sensitive individuals.
βNo Resorcinol – a potential endocrine disruptor linked to hormone imbalance and skin irritation.
βNo Fragrance – a hidden ingredient that can contain hundreds of undisclosed chemicals.
Instead, Innersense uses plant-powered ingredients and innovative, gentle technology to deliver beautiful results—without the baggage. Clean color. Stunning results. Real peace of mind.
Ask about it at your next reservation!

Part 1 of our significant retail upgrade! I’ve been diving deep into my salon’s business, numbers values and culture over the last few months and something was BOTHERING ME!!! It was our retail selection. We had a little bit of everything and sales were so slumped. It’s hard to be an expert in 20 different brands and it’s a nightmare to maintain. My mission this year is simplify and streamline so that’s what we did! @sevenhaircare is one of 5 brands we will be carrying going forward! All brands we have chosen are clean and cruelty free. Seven was our top seller by over $6k so it was a no brainer to go all in! We no carry every item even liters, gift sets and travel sizes so our guests get the best of everything β€οΈπ― we are excited for our Seven PK class this Friday with @monicangu who’s coming all the way from Seattle to support our brunettes class this weekend and support our salon with this upgrade! If you haven’t checked out Seven, you will be absolutely obsessed π€© #sevenhaircare #thenetworksalon
Story time! I love @ladygaga so much!! Since I was a young girl, she’s had a huge impact on my life and career. People think I’m crazy for having her portrait tattooed on my arm, but honestly—I love and look up to her so much.
When I was 17, I was working a terrible job and asked for a day off to go to the Monster Ball. They said no but I went anyway… I couldn’t afford a ticket, so I found a Craigslist gig working the event just to be there. I ended up sneaking in and got to see her sing Speechless. I remember standing there thinking, “Yup, I’m in the right place.” I ended up quitting my job for the opportunity to just be in the building —but the next day, I found an amazing job in a place I was meant to be.
Fast forward a few years, I saw her Oprah interview about mental health, and it helped me so much—she has no idea. That’s when I got this portrait tattoo (2019) Then in a wild twist of fate, I was chosen to be a hair assistant on her Stupid Love music video. I didn’t shine during that trip—it was tough, and I honestly wasn’t qualified to be there (I don’t do wigs)—but I showed up, did my best, and supported my team however I could. I didn’t get to meet her, but I was just 15 feet away watching her rehearse and film—and I was blown TF away.
A few weeks later, COVID hit. I lost so much in my business and went down a really bad path. Eventually, I checked into inpatient treatment. I was struggling with substance abuse, and all I asked for the entire time was a Chromatica CD. I got it—and I listened to it every day for 60 days in rehab.
I’ve seen her twice for the Chromatica Ball, and of course I’ve secured my tickets for Maybem. But Gaga is so much more than her music. She’s authentic, kind, always evolving—and to me, a true inspiration to everyone.
As someone who mentors others, I think it’s so important to share the people who inspire me. Please share—maybe one day she’ll see it :)

I had the best experience at @foodologylab in Southington, CT! You guys know how much I love to cook—and one of my 2025 bingo goals was to make a beef Wellington. First box officially checked!
Taking a class with friends made it even more fun, and Chef Christina, thank you for the inspiration—not just with the recipe, but also with how you run your classes and workshops. I left feeling so happy, and I can’t wait to recreate this dish for the holidays and dinner parties!

It’s been a minute, but after spending the past few weeks deep in research and reflection about the products I want to carry both on the shelves and behind the chair, I keep coming back to @k18hair. The quality, performance, and integrity of this brand are unmatched—it checks every box for me.
Did you know K18 is @leapingbunnyprogram certified? I’ve been taking a closer look at everything we offer, and for me, it’s a no-brainer to carry only products that meet those standards.
If you haven’t tried K18 yet, consider starting with their 30-minute online certification—that’s how I got hooked, and I’m so glad I did.
We carry the full line at @thenetworksalon and offer the pro treatment as a $28 add-on during your appointment.
Hi friends! If you feel frantic around tax time, please know it doesn’t have to be this way. So many new business owners have no idea how to set themselves up to win—and tax season flushes them out like crazy!
Here’s what I do:
1. Shift your mindset: if you pay yourself $100, set aside at least $30 for taxes—or you’ll fall behind. And stop spending directly from your business account. That’s called co-mingling funds and it’s a big NO. It’s a red flag for audits and trouble down the line.
2. Max out your retirement accounts and take care of future you.
3. Use an HSA (Health Savings Account)! It’s pre-tax and can be used for tons of qualified medical expenses—way more than most people think.
Here’s a mix of common and surprising HSA-eligible expenses:
• Doctor visits and telehealth
• Therapy, psychiatric care, and substance abuse treatment
• Chiropractic care and acupuncture
• Dental work, braces, and vision care
• LASIK, glasses, and contact solution
• Menstrual products and pregnancy tests
• Breast pumps and lactation supplies
• Sunscreen (SPF 15+), lip balm with SPF, and hand sanitizer
• Sleep studies, snoring aids, and CPAP machines
• Fertility treatments and prenatal vitamins
• Hearing aids and batteries
• First aid supplies and blood pressure monitors
• Smoking cessation products and weight-loss programs (if prescribed)
• Massage therapy (if prescribed for a medical condition)
• Transportation to medical appointments (mileage, tolls, parking)
• Service animal care related to a medical condition

It’s rare that I get to cook for just four people—usually, it’s either just me, Steve, and Zoë or a much larger group. Since we had a smaller gathering, I wanted to challenge myself and make a four-course meal!
Tonight’s dinner was everything! π½β¨
I made homemade linguini and served it with a creamy garlic shrimp sauce, fresh herbs, and lemon ππ¦
For starters, I made burrata with roasted strawberry tomatoes, basil oil, and balsamic glaze, served with crispy homemade ciabatta crostini π₯π₯
The salad was a classic wedge with crispy bacon, grape tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, and a creamy chive dressing π₯
And for dessert? A light and crispy lemon olive oil cake dusted with powdered sugar and served with fresh berries π°π
Every bite was perfection!

Reintroducing Myself β¨
Hi everyone π₯°, I realized it’s been a while since I properly introduced myself! Whether you’ve been here since the Hair Doctor days or just recently found my page, here’s a little about me:
I’m Gina Sicard—hairstylist, salon owner, educator, podcaster, business coach, wife, mom, and dog mama. I’ve been in this industry for 15+ years, building a career rooted in resilience, reinvention, and realness. I own @thenetworksalon and @thenetworkyoga, teach stylists and salon owners around the world, and run @thenetworkmastermind, helping beauty pros take control of their careers.
Beyond hair, I’m just a person figuring it out—obsessed with sourdough, home cooking, and binge-watching Grey’s Anatomy and Law & Order: SVU. But above all, being Zoë’s mom has changed my entire perspective on life. Mom life has been the most incredible part of my journey so far and I love connecting with other moms about all things!
At this stage, I’m all about soaking up this new stage of my life—growing, evolving, and creating a life and business that feels as good as it looks. If you’re here, I hope you feel inspired, empowered, and reminded that it’s never too late to level up.
Now, tell me something I don’t know about you! Let’s connect! β€οΈ #ReintroducingMe #SalonOwner #Educator #Hairstylist
A hill I will die on is that every high school should be a trade school! Give people the opportunity to make a decent living while working toward their next step—if they have one—or show them that they can make great money in the trades!
With my cosmetology license, here’s what I’ve done:
• Worked behind the chair at a company
• Rented a chair and started my own business
• Owned multiple salons
• Opened a yoga studio
• Started a T-shirt business
• Launched a hair tools brand
• Built an education company
• Worked for major brands
• Traveled and taught private classes
• Taught 1:1 lessons
• Monetized a podcast
And so much more!
I’ve been making six figures since I was 24 doing a job I love while helping others build the career of their dreams. Doing hair is NOT a BS career!

Still loving the @innersensepro Color Purity!
Formula: I started with cream lightener and 20 volume, foiling the entire back of the head in just 15 minutes using my new combs that are in development π. Then, I switched to powder lightener with 20 volume, followed by 30 volume to finish the highlights.
For the tone, I mixed 7C and 8C with a ribbon of the copper intensifier to see how bright it could get—it was SO vibrant! Since I knew my client wouldn’t want it that bright, I immediately overlaid 7N right on top and let it process for 20 minutes. Fun fact: Color Purity mixed with 5 volume (1:1) on damp hair works as a demi but delivers the vibrancy and shine of permanent color π.
I loved the final look!
She eventually wants to be a copper-gold, but I focused on lightening her dark base first before going that blonde. Sometimes, you need to lift the background over a few sessions to get the best result!
What do you think? Also, how wild is the difference in lighting between curling and direct sunlight?! Lighting is crazy!

Three things hairstylists do that come off as unprofessional (and how to fix them!):
1. Slow response time – Are you transparent about when you’ll reply? Try batching responses and setting clear expectations so clients don’t feel ignored. Make it easy for them to contact you!
2. Sticker shock – No one likes a surprise bill. Be upfront about pricing to avoid uncomfortable conversations and keep clients coming back.
3. Skipping a fresh consultation – Every appointment should feel like their first. Keep the conversation open so they always feel heard and valued!
This post is sponsored by @marlobeautysupply – if you’re not shopping at Marlo, you’re missing out!
AI editing is out of control. Yes, I’ve used it—especially on selfies, LOL—but when it comes to hair, it’s so easy to spot for a trained eye. For someone who doesn’t know any better, though, it can really mess with expectations. Nobody looks that perfect.
During consultations, we now have to specify to clients that a photo is AI-enhanced just to help manage expectations. It’s wild. Anyway, just a thought! I’ve stopped editing my professional work because I don’t have the time, and honestly, I don’t care. I want my work to look good without an edit, and if that means fewer likes, so be it.
Let’s embrace imperfection and keep it real.

Since graduating from hair school, and even before then, I’ve invested heavily in education. I’ve learned from upcoming educators and industry legends alike. If becoming an educator is your goal, here’s what I’ve discovered:
1. Learn from Everyone: Whether it’s a complete technique, a nugget of groundbreaking information, or just a new way to communicate. Everything has been done, but there’s always room to refine your craft, build confidence, and increase efficiency.
2. Value in Every Class: I won’t claim every class is worth the price—that’s a conversation for another day. However, there’s always something to gain. Say yes to education.
3. Connection is Key: People gravitate towards educators they can relate to. Talent is essential, but relatability will take you further. Drop the perfection act and focus on connecting.
4. Organization Matters: Many talented educators lack organizational skills. They have valuable insights but often appear disorganized, which can distract attendees. It’s okay to seek help!
5. Everyone Has a Story:* You don’t just need expertise; you need a clear plan on what to teach, how to effectively deliver it, how to market yourself, and how to manage your business.

Inspired by @alyssawiener
I met my younger self for coffee.
She was there early, eager to know how we’ve been. I was right on time.
She ordered a skinny vanilla latte. I got an iced vanilla latte.
She asked if i ever started liking myself more.
I told her how proud of myself I am.
She asked if we ever did anything with hair.
I told her not only did we go far with hair we are helping other people make it their dream career.
She asked about our friends.
I told her you have amazing friends, an amazing husband and a beautiful daughter - just like you wanted.
She asked if we’re okay.
I said life turned out like a dream even though it was really hard we came out in the other side.
I told her I’d always hold her hand.
I told her I’ve never forgotten her.
Everything I do is for her.
I hope we meet for coffee again soon.
I love foiling so much. Would prefer foiling over any other service. Least favorite service is blow drying!! What’s your most and least favorite service? I wish I could hand off every client to someone who loves styling. I used to do this a lot at GBH it was amazing π₯°ππΌ I could do probably 12 full highlights a day lol
Just because you wouldn’t spend the money on a service doesn’t mean your clients won’t! When we struggle financially, it’s easy to project our fears onto our clients—but that mindset holds so many stylists back. If your client needs a treatment, offer it. If they need better products, recommend them. If they really need a full highlight but always opt for a half and leave unhappy, confidently guide them toward the best solution. Your job isn’t to assume what they can afford—it’s to provide the best possible service and let them decide. Step into your power, trust your expertise, and stop letting limiting beliefs get in the way of your success. You got this!

This video is brought to you by @marlobeautysupply ! Every month I’ll be sharing amazing high value tips to help you grow your business! If you aren’t shopping at Marlo beauty already, you HAVE to check them out!
I wish I had more time to talk about this but I hit my time limit! Here are a few ways as a salon owner to keep your stylists busy:
First off - you need to look cohesive and professional or stylists will not want to work with you. Market to the stylists and clients you want to work with - that brings me to # 1
1. Establish a brand! Use canva to create a brand kit - I will be talking about this in my class on Monday (the 360° Guest Experience - comment 360 below for details)
2. Work a content strategy - post 3 kinds of content and focus the most on awareness and consideration content and less on conversion content - ads are much better for conversion content to retarget the clients viewing your content which brings me to # 3
3. RUN ADS! We are always running ads to keep our staff busy. It’s a great way to buy back your time and retarget the people viewing content.
It takes 16 times of seeing your brand for someone to make a decision to book it’s a no brainer to run ads otherwise you’re gonna book slowly!
Salon owners if you need help with this it is absolutely insane not to join my Mastermind Group @thenetworkmastermind. Here you will have access to 1 coaching call / month with me (group LIVE q+a) and my 2025 curriculum the 360 Guest experience plus all of my other online education for $50/month.
Only 21 tickets left to this amazing event with myself, @heartandsoulbyallynicole @thenewenglandstylist and @sarahlongohair at the one and only @thenetworksalon in CT!
Learn all about bridal, get inspired, network and meet other amazing artists and experience our amazing salon. Hope to see you then!

NEW STYLISTS - this message is for you!
Long gone are the days of walking into a fully booked schedule! In 2025, there are more reputable hairstylists than ever, and building your books takes real effort. Here are five ways to do it:
1. Post on your IG stories daily—most people scroll through stories more than their feed. Make your stories interactive, personal, and showcase why you love what you do.
2. Focus on awareness content over conversion content. Post less “book now” and more “this is what I do, why I love it, and where I do it.”
3. Get models—lots of them! Do as much hair as possible, even at a discount or for free, to build your portfolio. Treat your models like gold, prebook them, and ask them to send their friends your way. Being a busy stylist means being likable. Make them love you!
4. Use the circle of influence. Write down 10 people you know, then list 10 people they know, and five more they know. Reach out to these 150 people to share where you’re working and what you can offer. Even if only 10% respond, that’s 15 new clients! Repeat this process 10 times.
5. Don’t wait for success—go out and grab it. There are always people willing to do what others won’t.
And most importantly, don’t give up! You’re in this position for a reason, and success tastes even sweeter when it’s earned.
Want to learn more about building your business? Join me in my mastermind group at www.thenetworkmastermind.com.
PS) My next post will be about how salons can provide clients to their team and keep them busy because it should be an equal effort between the salon and the stylist!
Looking for inspiration! Stylists, I need your help—what does your dream salon have? Think beyond the basics and get detailed! Don’t just say “good coffee” tell me what you are truly dreaming about!!
• What’s the parking situation?
• How does the laundry/storage area function?
• What’s the vibe for the coffee bar or breakroom?
• How about lighting, seating, or stations?
Tell me everything you’ve always wanted in a salon—no idea is too big or small. I wanna get inside your head! Drop your thoughts below πβ¨
Took me two years to post this, but if it helps one person, it’s worth it! This is my fourth New Year sober, and each year it gets better. My life feels fuller, I laugh deeper belly laughs, and my relationships are more fulfilling. As a mother, I couldn’t be happier, and as a business owner, I feel more relaxed—even when things get tough. I know alcohol is never the answer, and if I pick up again, it’ll be like I never stopped. If your New Year’s resolution is to drink less or stop completely, just know there’s a reason God, the universe, or whoever you believe in is pulling you in that direction!
Five years ago, I hired @blendsations at The Network Salon! At the time, I was NOT hiring and had no intention of training or working with any assistants for a while. I had just wrapped up owning a training-focused salon for five years, and honestly, I was over it.
I met Alexandra at PMTS North Haven, where I occasionally taught classes. From the moment we met, she made it clear she wanted to work at The Network. She interviewed with me, and I bluntly told her I wasn’t hiring. But she didn’t back down—she said she would do anything. She also mentioned her passion for YouTube and filming, which caught my attention. I was traveling a lot back then, and I saw the potential benefit of working with someone who had that interest.
I told her, “Okay, I’ll hire you, but you’re going to have to do a lot of random stuff—like carry my suitcase, clean, and help out around the salon.” Without hesitation, she agreed. Just like that, five years ago today, she joined my team.
Shortly after, I got the opportunity to do hair on the Lady Gaga set, and I brought her along—the first of many incredible trips together. Then, the world shut down due to the pandemic. Together, we navigated the challenges of running a brand-new salon and launching her career. We grew through it all.
Eventually, the time came for her to start doing hair and step out on her own. She became a booth renter about a year or so into her career, which is an incredibly tough transition—but she made it happen. Over the years, I’ve watched Alexandra face so many challenges and never give up, including enduring the heartbreaking loss of her mother after years of battling cancer. Through it all, she continues to pursue her dreams with determination and grace.
I have never met a stronger young woman, and I am so proud to call her not only a coworker but also a dear friend. No matter where life takes us, you’ll always be like a little sister to me, Alexandra, and I love you so much!
Happy 5-year anniversary!
Sorry, not sorry. Ending 2024 with a truth bomb because it’s what our industry needs.
My goal has always been to elevate the beauty industry, and I truly believe what we need most right now is to take a step back and refocus on the end-to-end guest experience.
No shade to anyone specific, but there are a lot of big influencers out there giving advice that isn’t realistic for a brand-new stylist. It’s often geared toward insta-famous educators, with an entitled attitude or strategies that just don’t work for someone starting out—especially someone with no demand and more redos than a seasoned stylist.
The reality is, the economy and social media have made guests more selective than ever. They come in with AI-generated inspiration photos, tight budgets, and high expectations because they’re saving up and researching their appointments like never before.
There’s also a lack of real, hands-on education. Most people are learning online, which can be great, but nothing replaces 1:1 education while assisting a stylist managing a full clientele. This is rare because many salons can’t afford it, don’t want to teach, or don’t have the demand to support it.
It’s time to get back to basics and focus. I’m launching something to help, and I can’t wait to share it with you on January 1.
My focus in 2025 is going to be the 360 guest experience and yours should be too.

Having trouble getting that perfect lift? As a color correction specialist I have had a lot of experience LIFTING hair :)
1. The smaller the section the lighter the result. It’s critical to keep your sections small and stay diligent - it’s all about saturation and saturation is more consistent when your sections are. So try not to get too tired when foiling by sitting on a stool and standing for the last haul in the top mowhawk section. I notice if I have saturation issues it’s at the top where I get tired and a bit lazy if I’m foiling for 2+ hours. Toning will not remove uneven lift so be sure to be diligent!
2. Mix your lightener a tiny bit thinner to make sure you are getting the best saturation. You want the consistency to be like a thin(ish) frosting. Be sure the mixing ratio will not dilute the power of your lift - use a lightener with a flexible mixing ratio and that will give you more options with less inventory.
3. Avoid folding your foils too much/use larger foils - folding over will create more heat and lifting power if the foils are bit larger and it will allow you to take larger sections - my go to foils are @framar big poppa foils - they are light but big so I don’t run into slipping issues - also as you can see in this video I’m folding long ways so i don’t create creasing or move the product to much!
Was this helpful? If you want to try the #framar foils comment Foilz to get my discount code π.

Part 2: Here are some of my favorite tips for covering gray, especially when using low-ammonia hair color. For resistant guests, sometimes they need that extra push to achieve the coverage they desire:
1. Mix 1:1 for resistant gray.
2. Use zero lift if you’re not lifting.
3. Add 2 inches of clear boost and use zero lift for coarse, resistant gray.
4. Make sure you apply to clean hair. If needed, hair can be slightly damp for your application.
5. Consider dropping a level for guests at level 5 or below who have 100% gray.
These tips can help you achieve better coverage and results for clients dealing with resistant gray hair.

It’s that time of year when we’re all feeling a little down and uninspired. I totally get it! If you’re a business owner (booth rental stylists included), here are 5 things you can focus on to reignite your passion for your business:
1. Learn to read a profit and loss statement. If you’re not a W2 employee, this is a critical skill you need to master.
2. Invest in education. Set a goal to continuously refine your craft. With so much education available, it’s easy to take it for granted. Go the extra mile to elevate yourself—YouTube doesn’t count! Get in the room with others who are eager to grow. I recommend investing at least 5% of your total sales into education each year. Having skin in the game makes a difference. If you invest 5% you’ll get a 10% return if you invest wisely.
3. Surround yourself with people who push you. Seek out those who are better than you, challenge you, and inspire you to level up.
4. Focus on your end-to-end experience. This includes everything from marketing to how you interact with clients.
5. Follow up with lost customers. Refining your end-to-end experience also means reconnecting with clients who may have drifted away.
Bonus: One thing that has been a game-changer for me: live in consultation. Work with a mentor or coach who truly has your best interests at heart and reach out to them when you’re struggling.
You’ve got this!

I’ve been training hairstylists for over 15 years, and I’ve never seen such an anxious group of professionals who are afraid to take on new clients. At first, I thought they were overreacting or being overly sensitive about the anxiety that comes with the beauty industry. I would often think, “Grow up.” But after watching the “Tonergate” drama unfold on TikTok this weekend—the story of the woman whose hair was toned too dark and how she treated the stylist PUBLICLY —it’s no wonder hairstylists are terrified to take on new clients, second-guess themselves constantly, and even charge more for their services. It’s simply not worth the risk when some people, especially on social media, treat hairstylists so poorly. I’ve been there and I am honestly triggered lol
I want to say how incredibly grateful we are for 99% of our clients—those who are respectful, kind, and understand that we are human beings who can make mistakes. Most stylists stand by their work and would be honored if a client simply communicated that they needed an adjustment. If we never see you again, we want to know why and will always wonder what happened.
But for those who go online to tear someone down and try to destroy their career, it’s heartbreaking. TikTok, in particular, has become incredibly toxic. The bigger issue is social media in general. It has turned people ugly and unkind towards one another. People treat each other subhuman and it’s so sad.
So, here’s what to do if you don’t like your hair: Call the salon directly, speak to someone, and if necessary, a manager, to request an adjustment. If you’re still not happy with your hair after that, ask for a refund. If the salon agrees to refund you, take your money elsewhere. If they don’t and you’re still unsatisfied, write a review to share your experience, then take your money elsewhere.
There is no reason for anyone to try and ruin someone’s career over something like hair color being too dark. But if your hair didn’t turn out how you expected and your first instinct is to try and destroy a person’s life and career on social media, something is wrong with you.
I said what I said.
Ready to increase your salon menu prices in 2025 and hit your goals? Try this a la carte math for your hair services. Does this help? π¬

I might not be at my goals yet *due to many pregnancy ailments* but I am so grateful for all that my body has done and continues to do during the journey of #motherhood

Always accepting new clients is a great policy, though I understand “New Client Anxiety,” which is basically just being an introvert, haha.
A few ways to accommodate new clients are to reserve a few days per month specifically for them and only prebook 1 appointment out for most clients so there’s room on the schedule for your new people to rebook.
Also, your new clients can be at a higher price point if you’re in demand. β€οΈ #iamginabianca #GinaSicard

I was sooo excited to try @innersensepro Color Purity! The first thing I had to try was their lightener. I always like to do a simple test before I start using a product so I can gauge its power and performance. I was pleased with the results! For breaking through permanent color it’s important to take into consideration developer strength, section size and saturation. I used 20 volume 1:1 and it lifted very nice. I would bump up to 30 during the last bowl of color or if your very fast bump up to 30 earlier to guarantee it breaks through dark color! I toned with their regular color 9N 9A 9G (NAG) for a balanced neutral blonde.
Let me know if you have tried #colorpurity and what you love about it, and if you haven’t tried let me know if there are any questions you have about it β€οΈ
If you want to learn more about their CLEAN color brand, comment PURITY and I’ll send you more info!

How to Stop Gossip in the Momentβ¨ In a world where we often bond over shared dislikes rather than shared passions, it’s crucial not to get swept up in gossip.
While it might offer a fleeting sense of satisfaction, indulging in it can erode our culture and create numerous issues within our business.
Fun fact - I’m so repelled by gossip that I designed our break room with walls that don’t reach the ceiling to discourage it in my small business.
We encourage our staff to come to management to address their problems rather than letting them fester in gossip.
Dealing with gossipers can be challenging; one can disrupt an entire team. We once had a persistent gossiper whose departure lifted a weight off the whole team.
Dealing with gossipers is tough because many prefer not to confront them, fearing they’ll become the next target. It’s a struggle because we want to believe in people’s goodness, but often, they’re only serving themselves.
Whether you’re a stylist, a leader, or an employee, here are some phrases you can use to combat gossip in your workplace:
1. “I think it’s best to share your concerns directly with ___ instead of spreading them.”
2. “That sounds like something management should address. Would you like to bring it to their attention?”
3. “This gossip isn’t productive. Let’s take this conversation elsewhere so it doesn’t affect the team.”
4. “I’ve made a commitment to steer clear of gossip. Excuse me.”
5. “Let’s shift gears and talk about something more positive. How’s your family doing?”
6. “Instead of dwelling on the problem, let’s focus on finding solutions.”
Putting a stop to gossip isn’t easy, but true leaders confront it head-on instead of avoiding or participating in it. And remember, those who gossip in front of you will likely gossip about you too. β€οΈ #iamginabianca #GinaSicard

Let’s talk about the power of words – and one I’ve tried to cut out entirely: should.
To me, ‘should’ feels heavy, like ‘Should Have Already Mastered Everything.’
It brings shame instead of growth, pressure instead of progress.
Instead, I focus on building a routine that puts me first. Exercise, meditation, therapy – filling my own cup first so I can be my best self.
Remember, you’re not behind; you’re right where you’re meant to be.
Let’s drop the ‘should’ and embrace progress over perfection. β€οΈ #iamginabianca
